The weather at Crooked Creek generally is great! However, temperature and conditions can change quickly, so encourage your child to be prepared. In the late fall, winter and early spring, expect cold conditions with a lot of snow in the winter. The summer and late spring provide beautiful days in the 60's-70's, and chilly at night. What to Bring
All bedding (sheets, towels, and blankets) are provided by Crooked Creek.
Toiletries. Bring basic toiletries. However, if your child forgets something, most items can be purchased at the Crooked Creek Store.
Proper Clothing. Warm clothing will be needed at most times of the year at Crooked Creek. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required for some activities. Campers will also need one outfit they can Also, don't let your child forget their bathing suit for the pool and hot tub, open year-round!
Special Dietary Needs. Our Food Service team is very willing to work with your child's dietary needs. Please contact your child's trip leader or Crooked Creek ahead of time to communicate those needs.
Calling Card. Cellular service at Crooked Creek is not very predictable or dependable. There are pay phones located throughout the camp that will allow collect calls or the use of calling cards. Calling cards can also be purchased at the Crooked Creek Store.
Spending Money. The Crooked Creek Store, the Snack Bar, and Coffee Shop will probably be open sometime during your child's stay at Crooked Creek. Additional spending money will be needed for purchases.
Camera. Colorado is beautiful. Memories at Crooked Creek are unforgettable.
- Every camper, work crew and summer staffer must bring a completed Health Form signed by a doctor to camp.
- During the summer camping season we have a full-time nurse and a full-time EMT on staff and we host a weekly volunteer nurse and doctor. Our medical staff will be more than happy to assist in any medical situations.
- Please bring only prescription medicines that will be taken while at camp or on the bus en-route to camp. The infirmary on camp has everything else that may be needed.
